Puppy feeding

For problem bitches with no milk

If you are in an area where there is no vet available and the puppies are not getting enough milk from the mother this recipe could be use for a short period until you can get the puppies to the vet. If possible weigh the puppies before and after every feed.  You need to weigh in grams as at that young stage they grow in grams per day.

1 x  small tin of Ideal milk (the red tin)

1 x small tin of boiled water (use ideal milk tin for measure)

5 drops of Vidaylin

5 drops of Cod Liver Oil

1 yellow of the egg (do not use white it could be dangerous for them at that age)

(Recipe by Koos & Magda Richards)

  • Mix everything together and store in the fridge.
  • Warm mixture to be the same as what you would have feed you human baby.
  • Feed puppies 6 times per day +_ 20 ml per feed.
  • Can use toy bottles to feed.

I have used some of the products that you by of the vets supply with very big success.  Even if it looks as if the puppy is feeding properly weigh the puppy everyday to make sure that it does gain weight.
